DHRUV TRIPATHI

Dhruv is an award winning Indian writer, director and cinematographer. Graduate of the London Film School MA Filmmaking with distinction, Dhruv has worked on a variety of projects including films, documentaries, music videos and TV commercials.

Dhruv has always been drawn towards stories of real everyday people and the complex relationship with the environment around them. It is the half shades, the hardly audible notes that he aims to capture and explore.

His graduation short film, ‘10x10ft’ has won awards like ‘Best Screenplay’ at Moscow International Short Film Festival, ‘Best Director’ at Indian World Film Festival, and has travelled to around 20 film festivals in the past year, including Socially Relevant Film Festival, in New York; Boston International Film Festival; Fastnet Film Festival, Ireland; New Fest, New Director Festival, Portugal and Chittagong International Film Festival.

Dhruv is currently developing his feature film, Reporting Live, a crime thriller set in India.

Having worked on a range of projects, set in different countries, Dhruv approaches each project with a simple ethos. He says, “Before beauty, comes truth. It doesn’t matter how long or short the film is, how much of a budget it has. Only if you can find the soul of the project, will you be able to connect to the audience.”
